First Lady Melania Trump made her appearance on arrival in Saudi Arabia: she climbed from the Air Force One without a headscarf. When their predecessor, Michelle Obama, did not wear a headscarf in Saudi Arabia in 2015, Donald Trump still had a vehement criticism.
The wife of US President Donald Trump, Melania Trump, did not wear a headscarf on arrival with her husband for a state visit to Saudi Arabia. She had a black trouser suit with gold-colored belt, but did not cover her long hair. This caused indignation for various reasons.
The Saudi King Salman welcomed the Presidential Couple after landing at the airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh. The monarch of the ultramonservative kingdom of Melania also shook hands - which for many strictly religious Muslims in Saudi Arabia should be an offensive behavior.
